Tom Cruise shared insights into executing one of his most challenging stunts on the first day of filming for ‘Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One.’

Known for impressing fans by performing his stunts, no matter how perilous they appear, the ‘Top Gun’ actor revealed his reasoning for scheduling the daunting stunt on the first day of filming.

Tom Cruise joked, “Well, we know whether we will proceed with the film. So, let’s find out on day one… Are we all moving forward, or is it time for a significant script revision?”

Switching to a more serious note, the Hollywood superstar added, “I had undergone extensive training and felt prepared. It involved years of preparation.” He added, “I’ve been riding motorcycles since childhood, raced cars, and spent a considerable amount of time with aerobatics, airplanes, helicopters, and parachutes… All my experiences culminated in that moment.”

Discussing the importance of concentration for such risky undertakings, Cruise said, “You have to be extremely alert when attempting something like this, so it was crucial to make it the first thing we shot in the film.”

He elaborated, “I didn’t want to defer this, shoot other scenes, and be mentally elsewhere. Everyone was prepared, so we decided to go ahead with it.”

The upcoming action-thriller blockbuster is set to be released in theaters on July 12th, 2023, while the second part is expected to hit screens in 2024.
