Court suspends warrant against Nawaz Sharif: According to a plea, the court put a hold on the arrest warrant for Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana case until October 24. If he does not show up in court on October 24, the warrant will be reinstated, the court notified.
Judge Mohammad Bashir announced a reserved decision on the petition.
Earlier, the petition against the former prime minister’s arrest warrant in the Toshakhana reference in the accountability court hearing presided over by Judge Mohammad Bashir was not opposed by the NAB prosecutor.
The prosecutor added that the permanent warrant issued against Sharif might be suspended by the court and that it was issued in order to bring the accused before it.
According to Nawaz Sharif’s attorney Qazi Misbah, his client was designated a proclaimed offender and an arrest order was issued for him. In order to allow Sharif to appear in court, he begged with the judge to revoke the permanent warrant.
According to Qazi Misbah’s attorney, “This case has been scheduled for hearing on October 24 and Nawaz Sharif returning on Oct 21. The court could cancel the arrest warrant.”
The defence attorney informed the court that the medical treatment report had been delivered to the court. The attorney stated, “We will appear before the court.” “The court suspend the warrant, so he could access the court,” the attorney claimed.
