US grand jury recommend charges Trump: The forewoman of a US grand jury looking into alleged meddling by Donald Trump’s campaign in the 2020 election announced on Tuesday that the grand jury has recommended many indictments, the strongest indication yet of potential…

Although she didn’t name names, Emily Kohrs provided local and national media with information about the findings of the Georgia grand jury, which has been investigating whether Trump breached the law for seven months. “It…

Kohrs said of the people and crimes mentioned in the jury’s final report, “That is not a short list. More than a dozen people were targeted, she said MSNBC.

There are names that you would undoubtedly recognise, she said. There are names as well that you might not be familiar with.

In an effort to reverse Trump’s narrow loss to Joe Biden in Georgia by less than 12,000 votes, prosecutors have spent the past two years investigating possible criminal activity on the part of Trump and his friends.

Rudy Giuliani, a former Trump lawyer, and 16 GOP activists who signed fake election certificates saying the 76-year-old Republican had won are among the identified targets.

If Trump, who just declared a third bid for the White House in 2024, was among those suggested for indictment, Kohrs would not say.

She did, however, suggest that the jury’s decision would not “shock” The New York Times. It’s not complicated, she said.

Seventy-five witnesses, including Giuliani, Republican South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, and Trump’s fourth chief of staff, Mark Meadows, testified before the investigation panel of 23 jurors.

“The judge in Georgia revealed three previously redacted passages from the grand jury’s findings last week, which contradicted Trump’s claim that there was rampant voter fraud, thereby undermining it.”

“The publicized passages did not recommend any specific charges, but indicated that the jury suspected witnesses of lying under oath.”

Kohrs told the Times, “I will tell you that if the court reveals the recommendations, it is not going to be some huge dramatic surprise.

“You most likely have a good sense of what might be there. I’m making a lot of effort to say that gently.”

After presenting the panel’s findings to one of the criminal grand juries regularly convened in Fulton County, Georgia, Democratic District Attorney Fani Willis will decide whether to file charges.

“Trump started the probe by controversially requesting that Georgia election authorities “find” the 11,780 ballots that would have given him the electoral victory over Biden on January 2, 2021.”

“The former president and his aides are under investigation for their alleged involvement in a complex plan to maintain power despite Trump’s victory. Numerous investigations are examining their activities for potential illegal actions.” This investigation is just one of them.”
