WASHINGTON: The US has responded to Pakistan’s decision to kick out the unauthorised Afghan refugees from Pakistan.
US reacts eviction of illegal refugees: According to Vedant Patel, a spokesperson for the State Department, Pakistan has been a crucial ally of the US when it comes to the resettlement of Afghan refugees who are leaving and trying to settle, and Pakistan has been a crucial stopover in that process.
According to a State Department spokesperson, the claims made by Prime Minister Trudeau have raised significant concerns in the US. “We maintain regular contact with our Canadian partners, and it is crucial for Canada’s investigation to advance, with the perpetrators being brought to justice,” added the spokesperson.
He claimed that the US had previously asked the Indian government to help with the Canadian probe both publicly and privately.
The interim federal government set a deadline of November 1 for illegal immigrants to leave the country, warning of potential deportations for those who do not comply.
“A task group has been establishe to take action against illegal immigration, according to Sarfaraz Bugti.” The minister bemoaned the fact that “Pakistan is the only country that allows entry of people even without a passport.”
The interior minister further stated that the assets of illegal immigrants would be confiscate. He mentioned that a website portal is under development to report any illicit smuggling activities.
It is important to note that Pakistan made the decision to send 1.1 million illegal Afghan nationals home.
