The Pakistan Navy announced Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf as the next chief of naval staff.

Naveed Ashraf appointed new naval chief: According to a statement from the service, the ceremony to shift command will take place on October 7. Vice Admiral Naveed will also receive his promotion to the rank of Admiral during the ceremony.

In 1989, Vice Admiral Naveed joined the Pakistan Navy’s Operations Branch to begin his naval career. He holds degrees from the US Naval War College, the Royal College of Defence Studies in the UK, and the National Defence University (NDU) in Islamabad.

He has held numerous important leadership and staff roles throughout his career, including those of Commander of the Pakistan Fleet and Commandant of the Pakistan Naval Academy.

Along with serving as the Deputy President of the National Defence University, he has also held important positions as the Deputy Chief of Naval Staff for Operations, Training and Personnel, and Administration.

However, Vice Admiral Naveed Ashraf is the Naval Headquarters’ Chief of Staff at the moment.
Furthermore, He has received the Hilal-i-Imtiaz and Tamgha-i-Basalat in recognition of his bravery and outstanding professional service.
