Virat Kohli, playing against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four match, smashed a long-standing Sachin Tendulkar record on Monday during another ODI knock.
Kohli fastest batsman to complete 13000: The sixth player in men’s ODIs to reach the milestone is Kohli, who now has 13,000 ODI runs under his belt.
While Tendulkar needed 321 innings to reach the mark, Kohli only needed 267, making him the player to reach the milestone the fastest. According to iCC, Jayasuriya attained the milestone in 416 innings, while Ponting (341) and Sangakkara (363) both required over 300 innings.
Additionally, Kohli is the only one of the five to average more than 50. Kohli has 47 ODI hundreds, which puts him two from tying Tendulkar’s record number of ODI tonnes.
While it took Kohli 55 balls to reach his half-century, it just took him 29 balls to reach his 47th ODI century. Rahul also reached his century in the meantime, giving India a substantial total in Colombo.
