Virat Kohli scores first away Test century since 2018

On the second day of the ongoing second Test against the West Indies, star hitter Virat Kohli broke the chains as he reached his much anticipated away century in Tests.

Virat Kohli scores first century: With a responsible knock against the West Indies on a difficult surface, Virat Kohli made his 500th international game memorable by scoring a century in a Test match on the road for the first time.

With just 13 runs standing between him and a long-awaited century, the right-handed batsman resumed India’s first innings at 288/4.

In the 91st over of India’s first innings, Kohli continued to bat with extreme caution and soon reached the milestone when he drove one off Shanon Gabriel.

Virat Kohli remained undefeated at 112 off 191 deliveries when this report was filed, thanks to 11 boundaries.

Notably, Virat Kohli hit a superb 123 against Australia in Perth for his last away Test century.

The next year, he added two more runs, 254* against South Africa and 136 against Bangladesh, before going through a tense all-format century drought.

For over three years, Virat Kohli had to wait before scoring his 71st century, which he eventually did against Afghanistan in the Asia Cup 2022 dead rubber match.

On the other side, his overnight companion Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten and scored a stunning half-century while standing at 51.

“The relevant censor boards approved the movie, and they scheduled it to start playing on Friday in Sindh and the nation’s capital, Islamabad.”

Prior to Jason Holder’s dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal on 57 for the West Indies, the openers and captain Rohit Sharma put up 139 for the first wicket.

India’s top order began to crumble after Jaiswal left, and the visitors fell to 182/4 as captain Sharma (80) also returned to the coaching booth.

India then overcame a top-order collapse under the leadership of Virat Kohli and Jadeja, bringing them to 288/4 at stumps.
