The federal government established the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) new management committee and named Zaka Ashraf as its chairman.
Zaka Ashraf named chairman:. Through the distribution of a summary, the government gave its approval for the creation of the committee.
The 10-person group was appointed for a four-month term.
Mahmood Iqbal has been named as the new chief election commissioner, taking the place of Ahmed Shehzad Farooq Rana.
The inaugural meeting of the new committee will be held on Thursday (today) in Lahore.
The 10-member committee’s names are as follows:
Zaka Ashraf (chairman), Mustafa Ramday, Ashfaq Akhtar, Musaddiq Islam, Azmat Parvez, Zaheer Abbas, Khurram Karim Somroo, and Zulfiqar Malik.
On Monday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) lifted the stay order on the PCB chairman election.
Further, At the PCB headquarters in Lahore, the chairman election was scheduled for June 27. However, the election was postponed as a consequence of stay orders issued by numerous courts around the nation, including the Balochistan High Court.
It should be recalled that on June 27, the LHC suspended the Board of Governors’ (BoG) announcement. Additionally, the PCB’s choice of a chairman was postponed on the same day.
Additionally, The federal government, the election commissioner for the cricket board, and other parties received notices from the court.
However, The list of the BoGs, which the temporary management committee finalised on June 20, was allegedly altered by Chief Election Commissioner Shahzad Farooq Rana, according to Malik Zulifqar’s appeal. Furthermore, It stated that the chief election commissioner’s actions were unlawful.
